Sebastian Hellmeier

Sebastian Hellmeier, born 1989, is currently a research associate in the research group “Transformations of Democracy” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Previously he was a postdoc at the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute at the University of Gothenburg and a research associate at the University of Konstanz, where he received his doctorate in 2019. His research addresses political protest, the comparison of authoritarian regimes, and processes of democratisation and autocratisation.
