Heide Glaesmer

Born 1973, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist and deputy head of the Department of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology at Leipzig University. She studied psychology at Leipzig University and received her doctorate from FU Berlin in 2004. Together with Dr. Yuriy Nesterko, she leads the research group “Psychotraumatology and Migration Research” in this department, and for many years she has worked on the health consequences of traumatisation, especially in the context of armed conflict and of flight and displacement. She is editor of the journal “Trauma und Gewalt” and of the Handbuch Psychotraumatologie.
